Both solutions have been devised in order to handle the axle-brake-cable system easily.
When the system is pre-assembled, packed and delivered, the enormous advantages given by the absence of the cable are self-evident.
The same can be said for the whole axle (assembling, varnishing and storing procedures). Axles and cables can also be supplied separately, thus increasing cost-effectiveness, making ad-hoc solutions more flexible and decreasing logistics costs. When repairing, cable replacement can be carried out externally, thus avoiding expensive operating procedures in order to open the brake.
